If it is unsure that the\nproblem can be corrected in time to maintain the required temperatures,\ninitiate transfer of item to Mimico Pharmacy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Contact Mimico Pharmacy (416.255.0300)\nand advise staff of incoming products.&nbsp;\nTransport to Mimico Pharmacy as soon as possible.&nbsp; Monitor temperature in the log book located\ninside the transport cooler<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Basic Principles for Packing Vaccine: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Obtain transport cooler located in the\npharmacy closet <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 To avoid temperature fluctuations, ensure\nthat everything in the transport container is cooled before packing vaccines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Pack vaccines in layers with packing\nmaterials to prevent content movement during transport. Refrigerated and frozen\npacks must be \u201cconditioned\u201d prior to packing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Be sure to place an insulating barrier\nbetween the refrigerated or frozen packs and the vaccines to prevent accidental\nfreezing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Pack vaccines in their original packaging\non top of the insulating barrier. Do not remove vials from their boxes and fill\nany spaces between boxes to prevent shifting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Use enough refrigerated or frozen packs\nto maintain the cold chain.
