When a brand name drug goes generic, sometime the original brand company will issue Payment Assist cards. These card will cover the difference in cost between the brand and generic.
Patient may bring in these cards if given by their physicians. Cards can also be ordered online from rxhelp.ca or by contacting the brand rep. The website will also list many of the programs currently available (but not all of them).
The cards we have are kept in the bottom drawer beside the intake computer. These cards are entered exactly like a drug plan. The cards must be the last payor during adjudication.
Note:
The 3 month limit does not apply to Patient Assist Cards.
For Claim Secure, patients can get greater than 3 months worth BUT you must call CS for an override to process the claim
