Patient are allowed early refill due for vacation supply if they are travelling outside of Ontario.
- For trips of <3 months duration: refill the prescription as normal. The prescription should go through as normal with a error of early refill. No intervention code is needed however, make sure to document on the hardcopy the reason for the early refill (i.e. Vacation Supply)
- For trip >3month but <6 months: For vacation supply greater than 3 months, the medication is dispensed in two separate transactions since ODB will not accept quantities greater than 100 days. The second dispense of the medication will require a MV intervention code.
- For trip>6months: ODB will not pay for supplies greater than 6 month. This is because citizens who travel outside of Canada for greater than 6 months will not have ODB coverage any longer
