Cycle Count

The cycle count in a continuous inventory/expiry date check of the dispensary.  When free time is availabe, please perform a cycle count.  The red place hold “Counted” will indicate where the cycle count was last left off.  Start on the shelf below the placeholder.  The count proceeds from left to right, top to bottom.  The inventory should be performed 4 times each year.

1. Use the cycle count sheets found on the right side of the upright narcotic cupboard.
2. Count 1 shelf at a time.
3. Pull all expired items from the shelf for return processing.
4. Once the shelf is finished, update inventory in the Nexxsys drug file.
5. Do not dispense any of the counted items until the inventory is updated.
